Salah Decision Could Come Soon, Agent Rejects Publicity Claims

Mohamed Salah has not decided his next club, but his agent Ramy Abbas says the Egypt captain could make a decision soon.

“We still do not know where Mohamed will play next season, but we may know very soon,” Abbas wrote on Friday.

Abbas also rejected claims that the forward’s team holds talks with unsuitable clubs to create speculation.

“It is not our style to have discussions with clubs that Mohamed wouldn’t want to play for, just for the sake of noise,” he added.

Abbas did not name any clubs or reveal which offers Salah is considering.

However, these comments offer the clearest update from Salah’s camp after weeks of reports linking the 34-year-old with clubs in Europe, Saudi Arabia, MLS, and Turkey.

Rumors about a move to Turkey grew after Abbas traveled to Istanbul. Galatasaray coach Okan Buruk also dismissed the idea of signing Salah. He said the club has not discussed the player and added that he expects him to choose another destination, rather than Turkey.

Salah made his final Liverpool appearance in a 1-1 draw against Brentford at Anfield on May 24.

He scored 257 goals in 442 matches for Liverpool, helping the team win eight major trophies, including two Premier League titles and the Champions League.

The forward delayed his decision until after Egypt’s World Cup campaign. Egypt reached the round of 16 but lost 3-2 to Argentina on July 7 after leading by two goals.

Neither Salah nor Abbas has set a date for an announcement. Still, the agent’s comments suggest a decision could come soon.
