Doué fier d’avoir représenté la France
Le milieu offensif du Paris Saint-Germain a également exprimé sa fierté d’avoir porté le maillot tricolore durant cette Coupe du Monde 2026. Malgré la frustration liée à cette élimination, il mesure pleinement la chance d’avoir défendu les couleurs de son pays.
« Je suis fier et reconnaissant d’avoir porté ce maillot et d’avoir la chance de représenter mon pays », a-t-il ajouté.

Désormais, Désiré Doué affiche son ambition de revenir plus fort avec l’équipe de France. « Je suis certain que nous reviendrons plus forts ! Merci à tous pour votre soutien. À bientôt », a conclu le jeune international.

Mbappé, Barcola et Théo Hernandez figurent dans le classement des joueurs les plus rapides du Mondial 2026.
Avec une vitesse calculée à 37,61 km/h, le capitaine de l’équipe de France, Kylian Mbappé est le joueur le plus rapide de la Coupe du monde 2026 qui s’est achevée dimanche avec le sacre de l’Espagne. Il devance de peu le Suédois Anthony Elanga (37,16 km/h) et le Néerlandais Micky van de Ven (36,77 km/h) sur le podium.
L’Australien Jordan Bos est au pied des trois premières places avec 36,67 km/h, L’attaquant norvégien Erling Haaland occupe la cinquième place (36,52 km/h) devant le défenseur ouzbek, Abdukodir Khusanov (36,46 km/h).

Schalk: Boks can’t be making 180 tackles
Schalk Burger says the Springboks’ defence will be truly tested for the first time this season by the All Blacks in the Rugby’s Greatest Rivalry series.
He believes continuous improvement remains the Boks’ focus heading into the four-Test showdown in the Republic, despite the world champions sweeping aside England, Scotland and Wales in the opening half of the Nations Championship.
Speaking on the Boks Unpacked X The Verdict podcast with fellow ex-Boks Jean de Villiers and Hanyani Shimange, Burger highlighted key areas to sharpen before facing New Zealand, who also went unbeaten with wins over France, Italy and Ireland.
“Defensively, we weren’t put under a lot of pressure [in the Nations Championship so far],” Burger said.
“If we come up against the All Blacks, and if they play like they currently are, we’re going to be making 160, 180 tackles, so tackle success rate is one area to improve.
“And also, do you have the ability to have that intensity and linespeed all the time? That’s a different challenge.”
HANSEN: How All Blacks can beat Boks
Burger also weighed in on whether New Zealand’s three wins under new head coach Dave Rennie exposed any weaknesses the Boks could exploit.
“None of the teams that they’ve played against have really challenged them in an aerial kicking game. The French game, it’s a long kick, a long kick. Ireland, this past weekend, didn’t get involved in a kicking battle,” he said.
“It’s a different game when you’re running back and against the Springboks. You think of that Wellington Test match last year, under the high ball, that was ultimately where the Boks dominated. The Boks will come with the same game plan.
“This is going to be such a fascinating format series because we don’t have those opportunities anymore. You know the All Blacks will be better for it by the third or fourth game.
“The first two games, if the Springboks keep on improving, we’ll put them under immense pressure.”

Shimange noted the contrasting styles set to define the series, with the Kiwis’ attacking ambition up against South Africa’s set-piece strength.
“You look at Dave Rennie and he’s spoken about brutality and playing with optimism, so they want to have a go if it’s on,” he said.
“You can see from scrums, especially down in their half, if the wings drop back they take it flat, have a run and all of a sudden you are behind the back foot.
“Our fundamentals have been good scrum, mauls, lineout … I don’t think New Zealand have been challenged there.
“It’s contrasting styles, but that’s where the differentiator is going to be – when it comes to Test match rugby and you get a scrum on your 5m line and you’re a point behind or point ahead, who wins that battle.”

What Kenyans searched for during the 2026 FIFA World Cup
The 2026 FIFA World Cup may be over, but Google Search trends reveal that for Kenyan fans, the tournament was about far more than football.
Argentina’s dramatic winning goal against Egypt broke Google Search all-time record for queries per second globally.
Throughout the tournament, Kenyans turned to Google Search to follow the biggest matches, and to explore the traditions, technology, personalities and moments that defined football’s biggest spectacle.
The tournament’s most searched matches in Kenya (11 June – 13 July 2026) were:
- France vs Morocco
- Brazil vs Norway
- Brazil vs Japan
- Norway vs England
- Portugal vs Spain
The excitement extended well beyond the pitch. Over the past two weeks of the tournament, searches for public World Cup viewings surged by 700%, highlighting the growing appetite to experience the competition together at fan parks, restaurants and other viewing venues across the country.
Football traditions also captured fans’ curiosity. Searches for “La Ola” (the Mexican wave) were 130% higher than during the 2022 FIFA World Cup, as fans looked to learn more about one of the sport’s most iconic stadium celebrations.
Search interest also reflected the players who captured Kenyan fans’ attention. The top five most searched African footballers in Kenya during the tournament were:
- Mohamed Salah (Egypt)
- Vozinha (Cape Verde)
- Jayden Adams (South Africa)
- Achraf Hakimi (Morocco)
- Ismael Saibari (Morocco)
Interest in the tournament’s biggest global stars was equally strong. Lionel Messi, Cristiano Ronaldo, Kylian Mbappé, Lamine Yamal, Rodri and Ferran Torres ranked among the most searched footballers in Kenya, reflecting fans’ continued fascination with both established icons and the new generation of players shaping the global game.
Kenyan fans were equally curious about the science behind the game. During the opening week of the tournament, searches related to the official FIFA World Cup match ball increased by 290%, while overall interest in the ball was 10% higher than during the 2022 tournament.
Rather than simply searching for scores, fans also wanted to understand the technology behind the tournament, asking questions such as:
- Which type of air is inside the FIFA World Cup ball?
- How is the World Cup ball made?
- What is the best World Cup ball?
- Is the World Cup ball rechargeable?
- How is the World Cup ball charged?

The tournament also reignited football’s biggest debate. Since the 2026 World Cup began, searches for “Who is the GOAT of football?” increased by 200%, while Lionel Messi was searched only 10% more than Cristiano Ronaldo in Kenya, highlighting the enduring fascination with two of football’s greatest icons.
These trends show that for Kenyan fans, the FIFA World Cup was about much more than the final score. Throughout the tournament, Google Search became a window into the questions, debates and moments that shaped how the country experienced football’s biggest event, from iconic matches and legendary players to football innovation and the traditions that bring fans together.
