Shubman Gill Is More Tactical Than He Appears: Shahrukh Khan

Gujarat Titans (GT) batter Shahrukh Khan showered rich praise on Shubman Gill for his leadership skills, saying that he understands his players really well and is a very tactical man on the field.
Having shared the dressing room with Gill at GT, Shahrukh has a fair amount of experience playing under his captaincy.

“Obviously, as a captain, he has grown immensely, from captaining Gujarat Titans to leading the country’s Test side. I don’t have to explain how good a captain he is because we saw the series in England and the way he captained, how aggressive he was whenever the team needed him to be. Looking at his journey as a captain, it’s been wonderful to share the dressing room alongside him, where he understands players very well,” Shahrukh told news agency IANS.

Shahrukh believes his ability to assess situations quickly and explore different tactical options has played a key role in shaping him into a captain.

“He is somebody who is very tactical. It doesn’t look like much when you see it from the outside. But as teammates, when you see him every day at practice and during games, his mind is constantly working on what to do,” he said.

Gill has been leading India in Test and ODI cricket for the past year, while he has been GT’s captain since 2024.
