IPL Bowlers Face Uphill Battle as Batting Dominates

In this IPL season, bowlers are struggling as the tournament becomes increasingly batter-friendly, with 200 no longer considered a par score.

The IPL has transformed into a "run-fest" where bowlers face an uphill battle. Coaches Ricky Ponting and Matthew Hayden, former batting greats, acknowledge that the margin for error has shrunk to almost nothing for bowlers in this era of powerful, athletic batters.

Ponting and Hayden suggest solutions focusing on precision and variety: wide yorkers, slower offcutters, change of angles, and potentially mystery spinners. "Variations are not new, accuracy is everything," Hayden emphasized. "You don't have to be a rocket scientist, but you do have to be near-perfect."
