Patriots Eye Developmental QB in 2026 Draft
The Patriots, picking 31st overall in the 2026 NFL Draft, aim to add a developmental quarterback behind franchise player Drake Maye. Head coach Mike Vrabel said the team will seek a young arm to join backup Tommy DeVito, potentially on the 53‑man roster or practice squad. Prospects such as Baylor’s Sawyer Robertson, known for his size and scrambling ability, and Georgia Tech’s Haynes King, a speedy runner with a strong college track record, are among the fits the Patriots are considering.
Dana White ‘completely removed’ from contract negotiations amid growing criticism of UFC fighter pay
UFC CEO, Dana White, is no longer involved with fighter contract negotiations.
That isn’t exactly “news” to anyone familiar with the promotion’s day-to-day operations or the role of UFC CBO Hunter Campbell. But that hasn’t stopped dopey streamers from latching on to hot-button issues like UFC fighter pay in a half-baked attempt to retain subscribers who got bored of watching them play video games all day.
White is too busy recruiting WWE wannabes to worry about what Manolo Zecchini is getting paid.
“We were a small business,” White told SPEED on YouTube. “We started to grow the relationships with [fighters like] Chuck Liddell and Matt Hughes [in] the early days right up to (Conor) McGregor, Ronda Rousey, Cowboy (Cerrone) and the list goes on and on. Obviously it’s grown and I have completely removed myself from the negotiating part of fighter contracts. I got to a point where this isn’t fun anymore. I’m lucky that I’m at a point in my life and my career where I can just deal with the fun stuff that I like to do.”
That may explain why White appears to be “checked out” during UFC video promos.
Whether or not the UFC antitrust lawsuit has White and Co. attempting to retcon the promotion’s organizational hierarchy is unclear, but fighter pay remains a point of contention regardless of who’s signing the contracts. Especially when the decision makers are bagging billions of bucks in content deals.
Cowboys rival could lose star DT; 3x-Pro Bowler requests late trade
Things might end up looking a lot different to the Cowboys offense when they line up twice this year against the defense of one of their divisional rivals.
The New York Giants could find themselves without three-time Pro Bowl defensive tackle Dexter Lawrence, as the seven-year veteran and former first-round draft pick has reportedly requested a trade, per ESPN NFL insider Adam Schefter.
"Lawrence and the Giants have been through two offseasons attempting to negotiate a contract reflecting his value to the Giants over the last three years," Schefter wrote in an X post Monday, "but there has not been any progress, per sources."
ESPN sources: Giants All-Pro defensive tackle Dexter Lawrence has requested a trade and he will not be participating in the team’s off-season workout program that opens Tuesday.

Lawrence, 28, will reportedly not participate in the Giants' offseason workout program, which begins Tuesday.
The 2026 season will be the Giants' first under new head coach John Harbaugh and new defensive coordinator Dennard Wilson. Now it appears they will kick off their offseason preps without the 102-game starter who has anchored Big Blue's defensive line since coming out of Clemson in 2019.
"He's super, super important," Harbaugh said of Lawrence as recently as February. "He's a cornerstone football player -- not really a cornerstone, more like the middle stone. He's right in the middle. He's a very big stone, and he's a very active, athletic one."
Lawrence's Giants teams have not fared well versus the Cowboys, posting just a 2-14 mark in head-to-head meetings since he joined the roster. But in those 16 games, Lawrence has posted 44 tackles and nine QB hits.
The 6-foot-4-inch 340-pounder should command plenty of attention in the pre-draft trade market, but Dak Prescott and the Cowboys likely wouldn't be all that sorry to see Lawrence leave the division.

The Most Cleveland of all Baseball Players
Tonight, Jose Ramirez will become the player who has played in the most baseball games in history while wearing a Cleveland uniform.
Jose Ramirez was born in Bani, Dominican Republic. Is it possible for him to be the most Cleveland of all baseball players? The players he surpasses at the top of this list – Terry Turner and Nap Lajoie – were from Pennsylvania and Rhode Island, respectively. The greatest players in Cleveland baseball history were all not born in Ohio, let alone Cleveland. So, Jose has as much claim to be the epitome of the essence of the city as anyone does.
Let’s examine his credentials:
-Despite being an atypical body type and height, Jose is on a Hall of Fame trajectory as a player. Cleveland is often overlooked as a city and glories in its underdog status. Jose embodies the underdog mindset better than any player ever has.
-Jose gives 100% every time he is on the field. In Cleveland, the weather is pretty nasty six months out of the year. Cloud cover is more common than not. The region isn’t home to some billionaire-minting Silicon Valley-type of industry. If you want to make it here, you work hard and refuse to give up.
-To stay in Cleveland, you really have to love the city unreasonably. You have to display an unhinged loyalty to the shores of Lake Erie and our version of Midwest nice/blue collar grit/down home kindness. Jose has openly proclaimed his appreciation for Cleveland fans and displays our ideals every time he takes the field.
There would be no question that Jose is the greatest Cleveland baseball player of all time if Jose had found a way to be part of a team that won a title. But, the title drought of which he has been a part somehow makes Jose even MORE Cleveland. Our joys are always mixed with grief, our happiness with sorrow, our accomplishments always with a sense that we could be more.
For about 10 years now, Jose Ramirez has been a part of my daily life. My children know him by sight and everyone who knows me knows he is my favorite baseball player of all time. He’s a national and local treasure who adds joy and hope to each day of my life, even if he is in a bit of an early season slump right now. I know if he’s chasing too much, he will stop. If he’s just under the ball, he will adjust. My confidence allows me to watch him in anticipation of him breaking out of it instead of dreading that he has entered some kind of steep decline. He has never let us down and I believe he never will.
Tonight, Jose becomes the most Cleveland player of all time, officially. But, he has embodied our city for a while now. And, most importantly, he has three times chosen to stay here and left no doubt that he loves this city, this team, this fanbase and playing ball in the same cold Northeast Ohio air that my children will be entering to play coach pitch. The day José’s extension was announced in 2022 was the greatest day of my sports fandom.
I love him so much. Congratulations, Jose!
