The Los Angeles Dodgers secured their record-tying 14th consecutive playoff appearance with a 4-1 victory over Cincinnati, cutting their magic number to three for a fifth straight NL West title.

The two-time defending World Series champions (91-59) joined Milwaukee and Tampa Bay as teams to clinch postseason spots this year. 'It's hard to say it ever feels routine, but it is the expectation here,' said third baseman Max Muncy. newsindata.org

The Dodgers are currently the second seed in the NL, 2.5 games ahead of Atlanta and trailing Milwaukee by 2 for the top seed. Manager Dave Roberts emphasized that while they've accomplished much, they haven't played their best baseball yet. The team is dealing with injuries to Freddie Freeman and Shohei Ohtani, making a first-round bye especially important.
