Manchester City Found Guilty of Financial Breaches

Manchester City faces an uncertain future after being found guilty of systematically breaking Premier League financial rules for nearly a decade. The club, owned by the Abu Dhabi-controlled City Football Group, has rejected the verdict and plans to appeal.

Potential sanctions include fines, points deduction, suspension, or even expulsion from the Premier League. City's appeal process, which must be initiated by emailing the independent commission chair, is expected to conclude within 12 weeks. The club's punishment will be determined in a separate, confidential hearing. Should the club be expelled, it could apply for membership in the English Football League, possibly in League Two. noplasticplease.life

‘We don’t need boos’: Astros players frustrated as own fans turn on them in playoffs

The crowd at Daikin Park was surprisingly sparse as the Houston Astros – baseball’s first division winner with a .500 or worse record – opened their AL wildcard series with a 6-3 loss to the Chicago White Sox on Tuesday.

Large swaths of seats, especially in the upper deck, sat empty while right-hander AJ Blumbaugh delivered the game’s first pitch at 4.10pm. The bottom two levels were much fuller than the upper deck, but many seats in the lower two decks were also empty.

Rams-Broncos attracts 20.8 million

Sunday night's instant classic between the Rams and Broncos didn't start that way. And a lopsided first half, which had L.A. leading Denver 16-0, may have resulted in fewer viewers sticking around for the fireworks.

An average of 20.8 million watched the game on NBC and Peacock.

It's the third straight year in which the first four NBC games surpassed 20 million. Still, the quality of the teams involved and the thrilling nature of the finish suggest it should have been higher.

By way of comparison, the Chiefs-Giants Sunday night game from Week 3 in 2025 averaged 25.3 million. While the final score was lopsided (the Chiefs won, 22-9), the score at the half was 9-6. And it was a one-score game until the final points were scored with 6:03 to play.

For regular-season games, plenty of factors determine the viewership. After a slate of exciting Sunday afternoon games, it would have been very easy for plenty of fans to check out when it seemed after the first two quarters that the Rams would win easily.

Those who stuck around got rewarded for it.

Despite revenue concerns, Packers don't plan to expand Lambeau Field Some think recent comments from Packers president and CEO Ed Policy regarding revenue disparities were less about other teams being able to sell minority stakes and more about the push-and-pull regarding its Lambeau Field lease and associated projects.
