Warriors’ Stephen Curry to miss at least 10 more days with knee injury

Stephen Curry won’t be making his return to the court anytime soon.

The Golden State Warriors announced on Sunday that the star guard, who’s already missed 10 games due to patella-femoral pain syndrome and bone bruising in his right knee, will remain sidelined until he is re-evaluated in 10 days.

While Curry has made progress, he’s now expected to miss at least five more games.

The former two-time MVP has not played since Jan. 30 due to the lingering knee issue, logging 23 points in just over 25 minutes of action in a loss to the Detroit Pistons. Curry also sat out the festivities in Los Angeles during All-Star Weekend, after earning his 12th selection to the annual showcase of NBA stars through 17 seasons.

“It’s just lingering soreness,” coach Steve Kerr said last week before a loss to the Boston Celtics. “We were hoping, obviously, that he’d be ready for tonight after getting the all-star break but wasn’t the case. He just needs more time.”

Golden State has gone 4-6 in its last 10 games without Curry and is 8-13 without him for the season.

The 37-year-old is averaging a team-best 27.2 points (10th in the NBA), 3.5 rebounds, 4.8 assists and 1.1 steals through his 39 appearances in 2025-26.

As for the Warriors, Curry’s absence is one of two major injuries the team has had to manage after losing Jimmy Butler III for the season due to a torn right ACL.

Golden State has managed to hover right above .500 without its two stars, sitting eighth in the West thanks to a 31-29 record.

The Warriors return to action on Monday, hosting Kawhi Leonard’s Los Angeles Clippers (Sportsnet ONE, Sportsnet+, 10 p.m. ET / 7 p.m. PT), before hitting the road for a three-game road trip that includes matchups against Kevin Durant’s Houston Rockets and Shai Gilgeous-Alexander’s Oklahoma City Thunder.
