Maryland wrestling will send 10 of its wrestlers to the Big Ten Championships at Penn State from March 7-8, and two of its competitors are top-five pre-seeds, the Big Ten announced Monday.
Branson John is the Terps’ highest-seeded wrestler at the No. 4 pre-seed in the 197 pound division. He has been a force all year long, possessing a 22-5 record. Redshirt senior Carter Young was slotted as a No. 5 pre-seed at 149 pounds; he went 11-2 this year.
Braxton Brown also secured a top-10 seed bid at No. 8. He’s in the 133 pound division, boasting a 16-6 record.
Among Maryland’s other wrestlers, they’re pre-seeded in the following order: Dario Lemus at No. 11, Sepanta Ahanj-Elias and Joey Schneck at No. 12, Mekhi Neal and AJ Rodrigues at No. 13 and Seth Digby and Abram Cline at No. 14.
