Rohit: 2007 Final My Favorite Pak Match

Former India captain Rohit Sharma named the 2007 T20 World Cup final as his favorite match against Pakistan, where India won their first T20 World title.

Speaking as ambassador for the 2024 T20 World Cup, Rohit recalled both the 2007 final and the group-stage bowl-out against Pakistan as special moments. "My favourite T20 World Cup match against Pakistan was definitely the final we played, nothing can beat that. We went on to win the World Cup," he said. The group-stage match was the tournament's first-ever bowl-out, which India also won.

The 2022 T20 World Cup encounter at the MCG stands out another memorable chapter. After being dismissed early, Rohit watched helplessly as India recovered from 31/4 to win dramatically. "I felt helpless," he admitted. "When games are this tight, especially when you're off the field and know you can't do anything, it just takes that sense of control away from you." He praised Virat Kohli's innings as "one of the greatest cricket games we've ever played."
