Rutgers Hires Joe Evans as Assistant Defensive Line Coach

Rutgers football has hired former Drake defensive line coach Joe Evans as its new assistant defensive line coach, joining the staff after a single season at Drake.

Rutgers has added former Drake defensive line coach Joe Evans to its defensive staff. Evans, who helped develop several sacks leaders at Drake, will work under new DL coach Dennis Dottin‑Carter. He previously played at Iowa and had a brief stint with the Baltimore Ravens practice squad.

Evans joined Rutgers after a season where he coached Jacob Auen, Nolan Korzeniowski and Gene Blalock, each posting multiple sacks. He also faced Rutgers as a Hawkeye in 2022, recording four sacks in a 27‑10 win.
